Source-Print
Overview
“Source-Print” is a service in which PDSLogistics produces thermal
shipping labels for outbound freight on behalf of its clients.
Source-Print services rely on PDSLogistics expertise, proprietary
software and processes to create thermal shipping labels (to
later be used by clients to ship freight within various express,
or small parcel networks) en masse; configured and arranged by
clients to coincide with production shipping lanes at client
locations. This service produces labels at authorized
PDSLogistics
locations and subsequently shipped to the client. Specific
services include:
1. One (1) to five (5) day product turnaround. 2. Consignee-address validation. 3. 3PL route-of-service validation. 4. Shipment documentation services. 5. Client-network synchronization.
Source-Print services are intended for shippers requiring 300
shipping labels (or pending, outbound freight shipments) or more
per request.
Technical Description
Source-Print is a series of proprietary technologies, housed and
operated at authorized PDSLogistics facilities. While
Source-Print’s
client-facing technology is principally web-based, certain
extended functionality requires additional instrumentation at
the client’s location and on client’s computers. This
instrumentation (as with other PDSLogistics technology and services
is implemented as Microsoft controls)
allows for peripheral synchronization and compilation of user
business-process and resultant data. This aggregated data and
business rules allow for an automated transactional-execution
for PDSLogistics clients. Source-Print “snapshots” can be viewed from
any browser without instrumentation. A user can initiate (or
execute) any functionality provided by PDSLogistics (for that user)
once the appropriate instrumentation has been downloaded and
installed.
Batch-Print
Overview
“Batch-Print” services are similar in functionality and
deliverables to Source-Print; however Batch-Print is designed
to produce thermal shipping labels at the client’s
location. Same-day per-label processing fees are charged
at the minimum 5-day per-label processing fee rates. PDSLogistics leases user-requested hardware peripherals
(see technical description) to users’ on an annual
basis. Third-party installation, configuration and
support will be executed by a PDSLogistics 3rd-party
vendor. Batch-Print services are intended for shippers
with expected shipping volumes of 1 to 100,000 parcels
per day. Technical Description
Similar in technical description to
Source-Print, Batch-Print
differs (from Source-Print) in more reliance on client-side
instrumentation for thermal shipping label production.
Several classes of printers and technical support are
available to users’ based on individual user’s shipping
volume expectations. The following are the supported
printer classes:

Data Validation
PDSLogistics offers a data validations
service to help our customer qualify the
consignee/receiver addresses before processing:
Did you know that up to 6% of your
failed shipments are due to mistyped or bad address
information? PDSLogistics will verify each address against
the USPS to assure that all of your addresses are 100%
accurate. PDSLogistics will even validate that you have the
correct suite number.
This service is also available to
customers that are not processing shipments and utilize
our technology to update their own CRM and accounting
systems.
3PL Data Conformity
Make sure that your shipment
information conforms to the carrier service. Long names,
addresses including suite numbers in a single data field
may be too long to fit on a carrier label. If your
information fields are too long to fit on the carrier
label, then the standard shipping applications and
systems provided will strip off the characters and leave
you with a bad address on your label.
PDSLogistics will use its proprietary
technology to review/scrub all of the data to assure it
meets carrier specifications.
